After ages of grey skies, wind and rain we finally could welcome spring here in my hometown. Today was the first day with actually sunshine and blue sky and in addition the trees are turning green again. The cherry tree at our building bloomed last week, pretty much later than in other parts of the world but still it bloomed and now it fills the paths with an ocean of pink petals.
Also the street we live at turning from its wintery grey into something more cheerful. Now it is once again pleasant to live the apartment and discover the “world”.
I guess for now I will go out to the nearby located park and enjoy some of the nature.
How was your spring this year? I hope not as late as we had it now…
Be sure to follow me also on Facebook and on Twitter as I will post there occasionally pictures which do not find their way into my blog posts.

So nice! I miss spring time in Europe.. In Taiwan spring is just hot and humid like the rest of the year.
Now we have finally over twenty degrees Celsius and the air is so fresh :p
Lovely photos, great to see that Spring is with you!
Enjoy your spring! It’s a month out from winter here in Melbourne and we’ve been hit with icy weather already, and have to pull out the winter jackets. Cannot wait for spring 😀
What do you mean with icy weather`, surely not subzero degrees :p
Ahaha…With the wind blowing, it usually feels ten degrees cooler than it actually is. Say if it’s 15’C, with wind it’s 5-8’C… like today. And it was raining…walking to the train station after work, my hands felt like ice blocks
Love the cherry petals, looks like someone just got married there and people showered them in petals.
And there will be more! The tree just started to lose the petals so soon it is really an ocean, will take a picture of it in the next days 🙂
Pretty! Sometimes I envy those who live in countries with seasons because it is always nice to see the change in seasons…😄
Well, here the winter is just grey, cold and boring 🙂
Hahaha, well here it is either hot, humid and sunny or cold, grey, wet and rainy. Sometimes both in the same day…haha…but happy that spring is here for you! 😄
Beautiful pictures! I wish I had a cherry tree outside my home. I feel like I’m missing out on spring this year. In Dubai, there’s only one season, and that’s summer, and in the Faroe Islands, where I am right now, spring equals 7C, rain and sleet:)
I have a dream to plant a row of cherry trees at my future house 🙂
My parents are in Finland now and they have also about ten degrees at the moment and even a bit of snow left :p
The place looks so alive with beautiful blooms!! Spring has finally sprung!
It took long enough, soon we have summer 🙂
I love all those lovely and colorful trees! Here there’s no spring or summer or autumn. We have four seasons too, but they are: sunny, super sunny, heavy rain and haze 😦
I wouldnt mind changing some seasons for the sunny and super sunny but the heavy rain and haze..oh well, not really my thing :p
“the lovely trash area in the background”, hilarious! And beautiful cherry blossoms!!
Fantastic photos, thanks for the feat for my eyes 🙂
You are welcome, I enjoy the colours also here after having everything just grey for many months 🙂
How pretty! Spring was late here, but it was very mild so I am glad. The flowers usually bloom very late here also because it is cold.
How cold does it get there usually during spring time? Here in north Germany it is also very mild but still there are fluctuations such as last year which was really warm and everything started blooming over a month earlier
This year was very mild! We often have sleet and snow into May. Spring is often very brief, and then it’s already summer and everything is green but the flowers are gone quickly. This year we have had blooming early but they get interrupted by frost at night and sometimes the blossoms die ^^
Sounds similar to Finland. There was this year still snow in the beginning of May. Last year there was even snow in the beginning of June for a weekend!
Jealous!!!! We are getting colder here…..brrrrr
I doubt you will as cold as I am used to in Finland :p
