Spring has come

After ages of grey skies, wind and rain we finally could welcome spring here in my hometown. Today was the first day with actually sunshine and blue sky and in addition the trees are turning green again. The cherry tree at our building bloomed last week, pretty much later than in other parts of the world but still it bloomed and now it fills the paths with an ocean of pink petals.

Also the street we live at turning from its wintery grey into something more cheerful. Now it is once again pleasant to live the apartment and discover the “world”.

I guess for now I will go out to the nearby located park and enjoy some of the nature.

  1. Enjoy your spring! It’s a month out from winter here in Melbourne and we’ve been hit with icy weather already, and have to pull out the winter jackets. Cannot wait for spring 😀

      1. Ahaha…With the wind blowing, it usually feels ten degrees cooler than it actually is. Say if it’s 15’C, with wind it’s 5-8’C… like today. And it was raining…walking to the train station after work, my hands felt like ice blocks ^^’

  2. Pretty! Sometimes I envy those who live in countries with seasons because it is always nice to see the change in seasons…😄

      1. Hahaha, well here it is either hot, humid and sunny or cold, grey, wet and rainy. Sometimes both in the same day…haha…but happy that spring is here for you! 😄

  3. Beautiful pictures! I wish I had a cherry tree outside my home. I feel like I’m missing out on spring this year. In Dubai, there’s only one season, and that’s summer, and in the Faroe Islands, where I am right now, spring equals 7C, rain and sleet:)

    1. I have a dream to plant a row of cherry trees at my future house 🙂

My parents are in Finland now and they have also about ten degrees at the moment and even a bit of snow left :p

  4. I love all those lovely and colorful trees! Here there’s no spring or summer or autumn. We have four seasons too, but they are: sunny, super sunny, heavy rain and haze 😦

  5. How pretty! Spring was late here, but it was very mild so I am glad. The flowers usually bloom very late here also because it is cold.

    1. How cold does it get there usually during spring time? Here in north Germany it is also very mild but still there are fluctuations such as last year which was really warm and everything started blooming over a month earlier

      1. This year was very mild! We often have sleet and snow into May. Spring is often very brief, and then it’s already summer and everything is green but the flowers are gone quickly. This year we have had blooming early but they get interrupted by frost at night and sometimes the blossoms die ^^
