I actually missed my second blogaversary by a few days but anyways on the 13th of August 2013 I posted my first little useless text. Thank you all for enduring my stories for the past two years.
During those years the blog evolved slowly and had different designs and layouts. I don’t remember much of the first theme except it was a very simple one without any extras. Just plain text and a confusing side bar. Oh and it had my great old banner on top which was replaced by the current one when I fiddled about the blog layout and theme last winter.
I do hope that also my stories got more interesting and that I evolved as a writer compared to the beginnings. Though I was used to writing before it is still a bit different to write for a blog and to find your own style. I am far from mastering any of that yet but there is still hope that I will get someday close to it! Even I should be able to get around and improve bit by bit.
So what are my plans for the future? No idea! I never plan really these kind of things as I am somehow always unable to follow my plans or strategies as life is full of surprises and changes. Of course I will continue on writing about my Crazy Chinese Family and the different small (and bigger) trips we do around here. My crazy Chinese mother-in-law still has a lot of chaos in her repertoire so there will always be something to write about. I also plan to put up a new section about cooking. There I will have my wife’s cooking skills and probably also some of my kitchen disasters as I had to start cooking again due to my wife being very busy with her own business. I also plan to give some more introduction about the other Chinese family members such as crazy granny, sporty father-in-law plus some others such as some aunty, uncle and cousins…of course I will push my wife to write some “guest posts” again about my parents and how life is in Germany for her. Don’t worry, Nathan will be also featured and perhaps one day he might get a little brother (or sister…) but that’s still far away for now. For the immediate future I just plan that everything settles a bit here and that I will get healthy again.

Thank you. It is not always easy to keep up with my schedule (only two posts a week but still) however so far I am enjoying it.
Now I just found out with dread that somehow I “unfollowed” your blog, I was wondering already why I didnt see any new articles, OMG
Glad to have you back =) I admire you for making two posts a week! I am trying to do one a week and it ends up being once a fortnight……
Right now I still have many stories and on Wednesdays I usually post something really small with mostly pictures.

Congratulations! I really like your old banner! But I like the new one too with the great pose. I’m not sure which I like better… Personal blogs are about evolution and changing as you change, so even though I only started reading within the past year, I am excited to see your blog change and add more crazy family members.
In the beginning I had the plan to make some “comic stripes” with those characters from the banner however I never had enough time to really get to it. I have few raw versions of those around but nothing worth posting/ not ready at all.
So last year I decided it was time to get rid of those old ideas and bring some standard into the appearance of the blog and the social media (using the same picture in those)
Congrats on reaching the second year blogging milestone and here’s to many more! I have enjoyed following your blogging journey thus far and look forward to your future stories!!

Oh, I didn’t even think about the fact that our little one is missing in the header!

You just reminded me that I missed my 1st blogversary (for this new blog anyway). Nah, I’m not bothered about it…
Sometimes it is best to just go with the flow when it comes to life. Christians say “man plans, God decides”, and Cantonese say “船到桥头自然直” (the boat will automatically align once it reach the jetty). Life may lead you to different paths all the time, but it will turn out right in the end…
I also missed my first blogversary now that I think about it…oh well at least I got the second one nearly right by just being ten days late.
Planning too much ahead never worked out for me so these days I just let things happen and plan only minor things so I won’t get disappointed when something doesn’t work 🙂

It took me many many months to find a writing style which suited the best for my stories. It is just complicated how to express oneself on a blog depending on the topic but by now it is just flowing out when I start writing 🙂

I actually thought about it and I have few rough sketches somewhere around but somehow I never got around in going deeper into it. Right now it is sadly out of the question due to too many things happening but who knows, perhaps there might be someday a revival of the characters from the old banner 🙂

Congratulations! I don’t really keep track of my blogging anniversaries. I think I started blogging sometime in 2006 when I was trying to move to Japan and traveling to the UK for job interviews at Japanese companies. I blogged the most when I was actually living in Japan, and later in the States. I changed my blog name and address quite a few times over the last 9 years, and I still have a huge backlog of posts that I still plan/hope to write.
That is a long time of blogging. I tried out to have a personal blog as well back in 2007 however I never really did anything there and deleted it after some months. Took me rather long time to get back into blogging again but I just had to share those weird stories of my Chinese family.
Thus far I sticked with the name of blog and the provider and I hope there won’t be any changes to that (dont like changes! :D)
Like 11th Monkey, I started my blog back in 2006. I have done it on and off since then, but have had spurts of taking it more seriously. I really want to move everything over to wordpress but it’s quite the task.

Thank you. I was surprised when I checked upon the date I started blogging, time flew by real quick since my first post.
The old banner was real hard work, I think it took me roughly 30min on paint. I actually planned back then to make from time to time some comic strips with these characters however I never got around in doing so and only have rough sketches somewhere stuffed away now 🙂
That’s a shame I really think your banner is great, but like all things blogging it is difficult sometimes to find the time to do everything we would like to!

That I still manage and I seem to be much better with the wedding anniversary than my wife (who forgot it the past two years!)
